Moisturiser - magnesium
Normalises the skin environment, improves the microstructure of the epidermis and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Magnesium ions can maintain the skin's moisture content based on the osmotic principle.
To understand why a healthy skin barrier is so important for us, we need to know how it works. The healthy skin of an adult consists of approx. 70 % water. 2/3 of the water is in the deeper and 1/3 is in the present. The skin’s protective barrier acts as a natural protective shield against external influences such as pathogenic bacteria, chemical substances or allergens. It also regulates the skin’s water balance and thus ensures the optimum moisture content, which is important for healthy skin.
If the skin’s protective barrier is impaired, the skin can be damaged. Environmental influences, stress, cold/heat or the natural ageing process can weaken the skin’s natural protective barrier. The skin loses moisture and dries out: Small, dryness-related lines and cracks appear, making the skin look rough and unhealthy. Sensitive, dry or very dry skin feels tight – and is often accompanied by hypersensitivity, itching and even inflammation.
All skin problems, be they sensitive, irritable, dry and flaky, reddened, inflamed or itchy skin or skin types with neurodermatitis and psoriasis, have one thing in common: they require particularly compatible, soothing and moisturising care that strengthens the skin’s protective barrier and helps to restore its natural balance.
The term “deficient skin” refers to “problem skin”, such as
Dead Sea salt is an effective and absolutely natural remedy for alleviating skin problems. Dead Sea salt is used worldwide as a unique mineral complex for the care of problematic skin and indications such as neurodermatitis, psoriasis and rheumatic conditions.
The latest study summaries1 confirm a number of positive properties that Dead Sea salt has for the skin, first and foremost its ability to bind moisture in the skin. In addition, Dead Sea salt promotes blood circulation, stimulates lymphatic function, cleanses the skin, has an antimicrobial effect and promotes wound healing. Dead Sea salt also has anti-inflammatory, soothing, regenerating and skin-soothing properties and thus strengthens the skin’s protective barrier.

The Dead Sea is an enclosed body of water, i.e. an inland lake, and lies around 430 metres below sea level. Due to its deep location, the harmful UV-B radiation here is significantly lower than anywhere else on earth. In addition, the evaporation of the water creates a kind of haze that increases the protective effect of the air against UV radiation.
The dry, oxygen-rich and clean air is another criterion that makes the Dead Sea, apart from its uniquely high concentration of minerals, a natural fountain of health known the world over.
The health-promoting effects of the Dead Sea were already being utilised in ancient times. It is said that the Egyptian queen Cleopatra sent caravans to the Dead Sea to obtain the “precious white gold” for her legendary beauty baths.
At around 30 %, the salt concentration of the Dead Sea is ten times higher than that of other seas1. With 32 % dissolved minerals, the Dead Sea is the richest natural mineral source in the world. The mud of the Dead Sea also contains highly concentrated minerals. The Dead Sea owes its apt Hebrew name “Jam ha’melach” – “Sea of Salt” – to this fact.
While the salt of other seas consists mainly of table salt (sodium chloride), the Dead Sea has a high content of magnesium, potassium, calcium and bromine, among other things. Dead Sea salt also contains other minerals such as strontium, manganese and zinc. The concentration of magnesium in the Dead Sea is 30 times higher than in the Mediterranean2.

Is a basic building block of the human body. It regulates the water balance and pH value of the skin. In the nerves, potassium ensures the transmission of stimuli.
Has an anti-allergic, anti-itching effect, soothes sensitive skin and thus promotes skin balance.
Is important for the regeneration of the skin and regulates the normalisation of the desquamation process. It has an extremely soothing effect on the skin.
Dead Sea minerals act on the skin like a magnet for water. They draw moisture and nutrients from the deeper layers of the skin into the outer epidermal layer, where they are needed most. By activating natural ion pumps can support the skin’s natural barrier and reduce inflammatory processes.
Due to its high concentration of magnesium chloride, Dead Sea salt is able to Moisture is bound in the skin. If the magnesium ions are absorbed into the cells, they can improve the intercellular water content.1 In this way, Dead Sea minerals ensure a healthy skin balance in a completely natural way.
